
Welcome Dr. Sato!

Shane Sato, DPM, is a board-qualified, fellowship-trained podiatrist who brings advanced surgical training and a patient-centered approach to the Foot and Ankle Institute of Colorado, PC. He is proud to uphold the clinic’s tradition of excellence while introducing new techniques and perspectives to optimize care for patients throughout Colorado Springs.
Dr. Sato was born and raised on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Physiology from the University of Washington in Seattle, then completed his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California.
Following graduation, Dr. Sato completed a rigorous three-year surgical residency at Cambridge Health Alliance, a Harvard Medical School teaching hospital in Massachusetts where he was honored as a Harvard Clinical Fellow. He then pursued advanced fellowship training at the Rubin Institute of Advanced Orthopedics in Baltimore, Maryland, where he specialized in minimally invasive techniques, complex deformity correction, and orthoclastic.
Dr. Sato is passionate about treating the whole patient – not just the symptoms. He emphasizes the importance of foot health as a foundation for overall wellness and encourages healthy lifestyle habits as part of long-term treatment plans.
Outside of his clinical practice, Dr. Sato enjoys spending time with his wife and their dog. He is an avid home cook, frequents local farmers markets, and plays music in his spare time.
